the Butterwood Bluegrass Festival

Festival-area
We came to Butterwood a beatiful saturday in october. The weather was perfect for a festival, about 25 degrees C. The Festival was held on a private farm way out in the country. We passed several tobacco- and cotton-fields on our way out there. The festival area is not to far away from Littleton at the northeast of NC. The audience could sit inside a large building that looked like a large barn without walls. At one short-end was a house with the frontporch turned into a stage.
I guess they use the building for some agricultural purposes. I don't know if any other musical events are held here. The festival lasted over 4 days, but we could only attend the last day.

The building

The first thing I saw when we arrived, was a record-table and an old man fixing things, putting CD's, posters and hats on the table. I thought to my self, That old man looks just like Ralph Stanley, he must be a relative, a cousin or something, or maybe.... I had to walk over to him and ask the stupid question. Is this Dr. Ralph? It was, and that was the first time I met Dr. Ralph.

You can see more of Dr. Ralph if you press the button on the left with his name.
